In this task you will be assessed on your:

Presentation of 2 faiths and their response to the issue of peace

Construction of an interactive activity to assess and revise the understanding of the class

Remember for this unit the syllabus highlights 

how peace is represented in teachings and  sacred texts of 2 religious traditions 

the contribution of 2 religious tradition to peace in the context of the individual

the contribution of 2 religious tradition to peace in the context of the world

TASK 

You will teach a 10-20 minute lesson to the class on the distinctive response of Christianity and Buddhism to the issue of peace.


In your lesson you must:

Speak continuously for at least 5 minutes

Provide the class with a handout to supplement your lesson

Conduct an interactive activity with the class to assess their understanding of the information you presented


You may conduct a broad survey of Religion and Peace or may choose to focus on a specific aspect of the topic for example:

You can identify a sacred text and explain how that text guides individuals in their quest for inner peace.

Examine the contribution of significant individuals or schools of thought

Explore contemporary movements.



(You may work with a partner on this activity however if you choose this option your lesson must last for at least 25minutes)

TASK 

This assessment will be a source based test on work completed in the units on Religion in Australia After 1945 and Religion and Non-Religion. It will include a take home component whereby you will be expected to construct a brochure incorporating your own source material.

You will respond to a range of sources which may include tables, quotes, graphs, charts, images and statistics.

In this task you will be assessed on your ability to:

examine the contribution and significance of a person or school of thought to Hinduism 

evaluate the influence of this person or school of thought on the lives of Hinduism

organise, analyse and synthesise relevant information about Hinduism from a variety of sources

conduct effective research to communicate information, ideas and issues using appropriate terminology and concepts related to Hinduism.

TASK 

Investigate the contribution of a significant person or school of thought to the development and expressions of Hinduism.


Conduct research and utilise the findings of your research to submit a paper of no more than 1000 words indicating your responses to the following:


Discuss the main contributions of the person or school of thought to Hinduism (Sanatana Dharma).


Assess the significance of the person or school of thought to Hinduism (Sanatna Dharma) as a whole tradition and to individual Hindus
