Blues
Merit System
The blues
system recognises student achievement. The system is designed to encourage
and recognise academic achievement, excellence in all areas, effort and participation
in the school and community. In addition, the blues system enables any student
to be successful within it and it encourages student maturity, self-respect
and self-discipline.
Students can achieve a blues certificate at the end of each year at the Achievement Night Ceremony after accumulating the following points:
- full blue for students who achieve over 500 points - Year 7s only need 350 points. Half blue for students who achieve 300 to 500 points;
- honours blue for students who have accumulated over 2750 points at Barrenjoey High; and
- honours with
distinction blue for students who have gained a full blue every year for
6 years.
