Parent involvement

At Barrenjoey parents are always welcome and we are fortunate in having an active and very supportive parent body.

Parents are involved in:

• P&C;
• Fundraising;
• Canteen sub-committee and canteen volunteers;
• Uniform sub-committee and uniform shop volunteers ;
• Sustainable schools program;
• Consultation in regard to school policies, budget, school evaluation, school plan and annual targets;
• Band program;
• Rock eisteddfod;
• Major school events ;
• Coaching and supporting sporting teams eg rugby teams and our ski team; and
• Environment and grounds improvement.

As part of the ongoing grounds improvement project parents have planted and nurtured thousands of tubestock, edged gardens, spread mulch, upgraded outdoor seating and removed weeds.

Parents, community members and staff completed the $60,000 upgrade of the school playing field in 2002.

Parents and teachers constructed eight shade shelters with a further, larger shelter being planned for construction.
