Physical disabilities
and health problems
It is important that the school staff are made aware of any physical disabilities
or health problems that students may suffer e.g. asthma, heart trouble, respiratory
complaints, diabetes, co-ordination problems, limb weaknesses, allergies,
epilepsy etc so that special provision can be made for these students where
necessary, and also so that the staff will know how to react if any emergency
arises. The principal will notify year advisers, the welfare coordinator and
other staff members as required.
Parents should notify the principal in writing of disabilities or health problems,
or any other difficulties that may arise out of participating in school activities
such as sport or physical education. All excursion and sport permission notes
have a section about medical requirements for parents to complete.
