Principal
The principal has ultimate responsibility for the leadership and management
of all aspects of the school. Parents who would like an interview with the
principal should contact the school on 02 9918 8811 for an appointment. The
principal is Mr Ian Bowsher.
Deputy principals
The deputy principals are responsible for student welfare and discipline,
the organisational running of the school and training and development of staff.
The deputy principals are Ms Low and Mr Woolven.
Faculty head
teachers
Head teachers are responsible for the organisation of their subject areas.
Any queries about levels of study, class placements or textbooks should be
directed to them.

Year advisers
Year advisers are appointed primarily to assist students with their progress
through their school life. The year advisers are available for interview to
assist and advise with any problems in the following areas:
Student welfare is the main concern of our year advisers. Do not hesitate to contact your year adviser if you have a problem.

School counsellor
Teachers, parents, health and welfare services or students themselves refer
students to the school counsellor. The school counsellor provides a
confidential service including psychological welfare, diagnosis of
educational problems, programs of remediation and assisting with adjustment
and behavioural problems. Parents are welcome to make an appointment by
telephoning the school. Our school counsellor is Ms McLaren.
Girls' adviser/welfare
coordinator
The girls' adviser is responsible for the welfare of all students and co-ordinates
the welfare team. All students are invited to seek her assistance when confronted
with problems. She is responsible for students with specific medical problems
and seeks advice where possible from the parent in the case of an emergency
at school. Our welfare coordinator is Ms Yorke.
Careers adviser
The careers adviser is available to all students but particularly to Years
9-12. Years 9 and 10 have timetabled lessons and new Year 10 students need
to check with the careers adviser for information about work experience and
the annual careers market. The careers adviser gives help to students and
parents on subject selection, tertiary training, courses available and career
path planning. Senior students can book individual interviews to discuss their
program of study or future training, courses available, scholarships and employment
goals. Our careers adviser is Mr Moylan.
Class teachers
Class teachers are responsible for teaching the courses set by the NSW Board
of Studies. Barrenjoey teachers are fully qualified and committed to maximising
student learning and promoting the welfare and academic progress of students.
Youth worker
Barrenjoey has a part time youth worker, funded by local churches, who
coordinates scripture and assists the learning support teacher with students
with learning difficulties. Our youth worker is Mr Myers.
Support staff
Barrenjoey's administrative support staff includes reception and office staff,
print room operator and kitchen, laboratory, library and general assistants.
The support staff assists the principal and the teaching staff in the management,
organisation and implementation of learning programs, management of school
finance, maintenance, grounds improvement and organsisation for school
functions and activities. The school administration manager and treasurer is
Ms Capiron.
P&C employed staff
The P&C employs the canteen supervisor, Ms Rutter, and her assistants and the uniform store manager, Ms Rudd.
